If you haven’t gotten the flu yet, DON’T! (If you do get it, here is a healing soup recipe!)

Build your immune system with a nourishing soup! Most of these ingredients are explained in the healing broth soup recipe.

Boosting your immune system is an important part of your weekly routine through the winter months when you are exposed to bacterial and viral infections. Ward off even the most difficult illness with this immune boosting soup!


  • 4-6 free-ranged, no growth hormones or antibiotics chicken thighs and/or breasts
  • 6-8 cups organic chicken stock (no salt if blood pressure is high)
  • 2 brown onions – sliced finely
  • 6-8 cloves garlic – sliced finely
  • 1 inch fresh ginger – sliced finely
  • Spicy peppercorns to taste (ground fine)
  • Sliced Shiitake or Portabella mushrooms to taste
  • Zest and juice of 3 lemons
  • 1/ 4 cup finely chopped cilantro
  • 1-2 TB Coconut Amino Acids to taste (this adds natural salt and replaces soy sauce)
  • 1 cup finely chopped spinach
  • 2 tsp. coconut oil or as needed
  • 3 TB finely chopped scallions or green onions for garnish


  1. Sauté onions, garlic, and ginger in coconut oil until soft.
  2. Add chicken and brown.
  3. Pour in stock, cilantro, lemon juice, spinach and simmer until chicken is cooked; once cooked, remove and shred with fork.
  4. Add chicken and sliced mushrooms back into soup and simmer another 2-4 minutes.
  5. To serve, place lemon zest on the bottom of your bowl, add soup and top off with scallions.

Ginger & turmeric root helps reduce inflammation and improve liver function and aids in keeps your hair growing strong and skin healthy and vibrant.

Kale or Collard Greens are highly nutritious and offer a variety of health benefits. They rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and can also minimize your risk of developing certain diseases. A Harvard-based study concluded that those who eat eight or more servings of fruits and vegetables daily, particularly green, leafy vegetables, are 30 percent less likely to have a stroke or heart attack. Eating greens may also protect against certain cancers, according to the American Institute for Cancer Research. Collard, turnip, kale and mustard greens are nutritional powerhouses with distinct flavors. Mix them or eat them separately to enjoy their powerful tastes.

Chicken, Beef or Lamb bone with marrow made as a broth is rich in minerals that support the immune system and contains healing compounds like collagen, glutamine, glycine and proline.

The collagen in bone broth heals your gut lining and reduces intestinal inflammation. In addition, collagen supports healthy skin and can reduce the appearance of cellulite. Also, the glycine in bone broth can detoxify your cells from chemicals and improve brain function.

This incredibly healing broth can be made in advance & stored in the fridge. Simply heat up only what you need and place in a thermal mug for warm sipping throughout the day. This broth has the miraculous ability to be both healing, cleansing, and nourishing all at the same time and is a wonderful addition to any health regime.

Healing Broth

Chicken carcass, large lamb or beef bone with marrow (omit if vegetarian)
1 large bunch of Kale or Collard Greens, chopped
4 carrots, chopped or 1 sweet potato, cubed
2 stalks of celery, roughly chopped
2  onions, sliced
1 cup cilantro or parsley, finely chopped
1 cup of shiitake mushrooms, fresh or dried (optional)
2 tomatoes, chopped (optional – nightshades)
1 bulb of garlic (about 6-8 cloves), minced
1 inch of fresh ginger root
1 inch of fresh turmeric root
8 cups of water
Optional: Cheyanne, Chili peppers or red pepper flakes (these are nightshades)

Place all the ingredients in a pot and bring to a gentle boil. Turn heat down to low and allow to simmer for about 1-2 hours. Strain and sip for a mineral rich, healing and restorative broth or remove bones and leave the veggies in to enjoy as a light healing soup.
