Healing Broth (Soup)

Cilantro, Parsley & shiitake mushrooms contain an excellent bioavailable form of iron which helps to keep your blood strong and prevent anemia and are also rich in zinc which is highly beneficial for treating viral issues and strengthening the immune system. Ginger & turmeric root helps reduce inflammation and improve liver function and aids in keeps your hair growing strong and skin healthy and vibrant.

Kale or Collard Greens are highly nutritious and offer a variety of health benefits. They rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and can also minimize your risk of developing certain diseases. A Harvard-based study concluded that those who eat eight or more servings of fruits and vegetables daily, particularly green, leafy vegetables, are 30 percent less likely to have a stroke or heart attack. Eating greens may also protect against certain cancers, according to the American Institute for Cancer Research. Collard, turnip, kale and mustard greens are nutritional powerhouses with distinct flavors. Mix them or eat them separately to enjoy their powerful tastes.

Chicken, Beef or Lamb bone with marrow made as a broth is rich in minerals that support the immune system and contains healing compounds like collagen, glutamine, glycine and proline.

The collagen in bone broth heals your gut lining and reduces intestinal inflammation. In addition, collagen supports healthy skin and can reduce the appearance of cellulite. Also, the glycine in bone broth can detoxify your cells from chemicals and improve brain function.

This incredibly healing broth can be made in advance & stored in the fridge. Simply heat up only what you need and place in a thermal mug for warm sipping throughout the day. Healing Broth

Ingredients
Chicken carcass, large lamb or beef bone with marrow (omit if vegetarian)
1 large bunch of Kale or Collard Greens, chopped
4 carrots, chopped or 1 sweet potato, cubed
2 stalks of celery, roughly chopped
2  onions, sliced
1 cup cilantro or parsley, finely chopped
1 cup of shiitake mushrooms, fresh or dried (optional)
2 tomatoes, chopped (optional – nightshades)
1 bulb of garlic (about 6-8 cloves), minced
1 inch of fresh ginger root
1 inch of fresh turmeric root
8 cups of water
Optional: Cheyanne, Chili peppers or red pepper flakes (these are nightshades)

Preparation
Place all the ingredients in a pot and bring to a gentle boil. Turn heat down to low and allow to simmer for about 1-2 hours. Strain and sip for a mineral rich, healing and restorative broth or remove bones and leave the veggies in to enjoy as a light healing soup.
